The Computational Systems Biology Infrastructure (CSBI) is a research infrastructure at Chalmers University of Technology providing access to advanced bioinformatics, data science expertise, computational frameworks, and research support for researchers from academia, healthcare, and industry.
CSBI supports research projects ranging from standard bioinformatic data analyses to the establishment of large-scale computational frameworks and advanced collaborative research initiatives.
Our expertise spans computational biology, advanced bioinformatics analysis, data management, systems and tools development, and the creation and usage of genome-scale metabolic models including the framework known as the Human Metabolic Atlas.
CSBI contributes heavily to national and European research infrastructure initiatives. We are an active node within the National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS), which constitutes the SciLifeLab Bioinformatics platform and forms the Swedish node in ELIXIR (the European infrastructure for biological information).
Our mission
CSBI and NBIS aim to strengthen data-driven life science research by providing:
Access to advanced computational frameworks and national compute resources
National and international collaborations
Who can access CSBI?
CSBI is open to:
Researchers at Chalmers
Swedish academic researchers (via the NBIS national network)
International academic researchers
Healthcare organizations
Public agencies
Industry partners
Projects are evaluated based on scientific relevance, technical feasibility, available resources, and infrastructure priorities.
