Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Giacomo Valle

Giacomo Valle is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. His research focuses on biosignal processing and neural engineering, with particular breakthroughs in neural-controlled prosthetics, brain-computer interfacing and neural stimulation.

Whilst this years' Nobel-winning discoveries gave researchers a way to control and probe specific neural circuits, Valle's research focuses on reading, stimulating and restoring neural signals, and using that knowledge to reconnect the nervous system with prosthetic devices or sensory technologies.
